- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the sprinkles.
- Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Press a few extra sprinkles on top if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use jimmies-style sprinkles for best results; nonpareils may bleed color.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For extra chewiness, slightly underbake the cookies.
