- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, drained
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the drained Rotel, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and heated through.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until melted.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom if preferred.
- Add a layer of chopped onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked later.
