Ingredients

Units Scale

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 ounces (113g) cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Mixture:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overmix to maintain tenderness.
  • Form the Meatloaf Bites:
    • Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it into a disc in your hand.
    • Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center, then wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball and ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
    • Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and cheese cubes.
  • Arrange and Glaze:
    • Place each meatloaf bite onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
    • In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and mustard together. Brush this glaze over the top of each meatloaf bite.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Serve:
    • Once done, remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm.
