Description

A comforting and hearty cheesy chicken casserole made with tender chicken, pasta, and a rich cheese sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (like penne or rotini)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup crushed Ritz crackers (optional topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the cooked chicken and pasta to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the top.
  7. In a small bowl, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole (optional).
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Try adding vegetables like broccoli or peas for added nutrition.
