For the casserole:
- 2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
- 2 (8 oz each) blocks of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping:
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
2. Prepare the first crescent layer
- Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Gently stretch and pinch the seams together to form an even layer.
3. Make the cheesecake filling
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough layer in the baking dish.
4. Add the second crescent layer
- Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully lay it over the cream cheese mixture.
- Stretch and pinch the seams together to create a smooth top layer.
5. Add the cinnamon-sugar topping
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the top crescent layer.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the melted butter.
6. Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are slightly crisp.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for at least 10–15 minutes before slicing.
7. Serve
- Slice into squares or rectangles and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy plain or with a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence!
