The Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole is a delicious mashup of all your favorite burger and fry flavors in one easy-to-make casserole. This comforting, cheesy dish layers seasoned ground beef, a creamy sauce, and crispy french fries, all topped with gooey melted cheese. Perfect for family dinners or potlucks!

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of cheddar soup)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (20 oz) bag frozen French fries
  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, pickles, shredded lettuce, and ketchup

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

  • Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and the onion is softened. Drain excess grease, then season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Make the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Assemble the Casserole: Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the soup mixture over the beef, spreading it evenly. Arrange the frozen French fries on top of the casserole in an even layer.

  • Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden. Remove the casserole, sprinkle with the remaining cheddar cheese, and return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve: Garnish with optional toppings like diced tomatoes, pickles, shredded lettuce, and ketchup for a full cheeseburger experience. Serve warm!
