Description

This Cheese Savoury is a creamy, tangy, and flavorful mix of grated cheese, crisp veggies, and mayo – perfect as a sandwich filler, cracker spread, or baked potato topping. It’s quick to mix up and makes a great make-ahead lunch option.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups (about 150g) grated sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated carrot

  • 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion or spring onion

  • 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise (adjust to your preferred creaminess)

  • 1 teaspoon English mustard or Dijon mustard

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine grated cheddar, carrot, red pepper, and onion.

  2. Stir in mayonnaise and mustard until everything is well coated and creamy.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors blend.

  5. Serve as a sandwich filling, with crackers, or spooned onto baked potatoes.

Notes

  • Use extra mature cheddar for a bolder flavor.

  • Add a pinch of paprika or cayenne for a subtle kick.

  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
