- 8 slices of bread (sourdough, rye, or your favorite)
- 1/2 lb (225g) sliced turkey breast (deli-style or leftover turkey)
- 8 slices of cooked bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
- 1/4 cup (15g) chopped fresh lettuce (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sandwich Spread:
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Set aside.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Lay 4 slices of bread on a flat surface.
- Spread a layer of the mayonnaise-mustard mixture on each slice.
- Add 1 slice of cheddar cheese, followed by a few slices of turkey, 2 slices of cooked bacon, and a tomato slice (if using).
- Top with the remaining bread slices. Spread butter evenly on the outer sides of the bread.
- Cook the Sandwich:
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches on the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
