Description

This Caramel Apple Fudge Delight is a decadent dessert perfect for fall or any time you’re craving the warm flavors of caramel and apple. Layers of creamy fudge, sweet apple filling, and buttery caramel come together for a treat that’s as indulgent as it is easy to make.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Crust:

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Fudge Layer:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Apple Layer:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Caramel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional, for salted caramel)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
    • In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
    • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 8 minutes, then let cool.
  2. Make the Fudge Layer:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
    • Stir in vanilla extract and spread the fudge evenly over the cooled crust.
  3. Cook the Apples:
    • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are softened but not mushy.
    • Allow the apple mixture to cool slightly, then spread it over the fudge layer.
  4. Add the Caramel Topping:
    • Drizzle caramel sauce over the apple layer. For salted caramel, sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set. Slice into squares or bars before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent touch, top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Use your favorite store-bought caramel sauce or make homemade caramel for a richer flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
