Description

These Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and festive twist on the classic dessert! Made with gooey marshmallows, crispy rice cereal, and layers of colorful candy corn-inspired goodness, these treats are perfect for Halloween parties, fall gatherings, or just a sweet autumn snack.

  • 6 cups (160 g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 cups (400 g) mini marshmallows (divided)
  • 6 tablespoons (85 g) unsalted butter (divided)
  • Yellow and orange gel food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 cup candy corn (optional, for decoration)
  • Non-stick spray or butter (for greasing the pan)



Instructions

🍫 Prepare the Pan:

  1. Grease the Pan:
    • Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
    • You can also line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

🍬 Make the Layers:

Layer 1: Yellow Layer
  1. Melt Butter and Marshmallows:

    • In a large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
    • Add 3 1/3 cups marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
    • Stir in a few drops of yellow food coloring until the color is vibrant.
  2. Mix with Cereal:

    • Add 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well coated.
  3. Press into the Pan:

    • Quickly press the yellow mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
    • Use a greased spatula or wax paper to press evenly.

Layer 2: Orange Layer
  1. Repeat the Process:

    • Melt another 2 tablespoons butter and 3 1/3 cups marshmallows in the same saucepan.
    • Add orange food coloring, mix until smooth, then add 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal.
  2. Add to the Pan:

    • Press the orange layer evenly over the yellow layer.

Layer 3: White Layer
  1. Create the White Layer:

    • Repeat the melting process with the remaining 2 tablespoons butter3 1/3 cups marshmallows, and 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal.
    • No food coloring needed for this layer.
  2. Top the Layers:

    • Press the white layer on top of the orange layer.
    • Gently press candy corn into the top of the treats for decoration if desired.

⏲️ Cool and Cut:

  1. Set the Treats:

    • Allow the Rice Krispie treats to cool completely at room temperature (about 30 minutes).
  2. Cut into Shapes:

    • For a candy corn effect, cut into triangles or regular squares if preferred.
