- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Mix until well combined and crumbly.
- Press about two-thirds of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, spreading gently to cover.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and toffee bits evenly over the condensed milk layer.
- Crumble the remaining cake mix mixture over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and set. The edges should be slightly crispy, but the center may still look a bit gooey.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan. Slice into bars and enjoy!
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For extra flavor, try adding 1/2 cup chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, to the toffee layer.
- If you like a slightly thicker bar, bake in an 8×8-inch pan and adjust baking time as needed.
