These Cake Mix Toffee Bars are a decadent, buttery treat made with just a few ingredients! Using a cake mix base, these bars are layered with chocolate and crunchy toffee bits, making them irresistibly delicious. They’re perfect for parties, holiday gatherings, or as a simple dessert to whip up anytime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Mix until well combined and crumbly.
  3. Press about two-thirds of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, spreading gently to cover.
  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and toffee bits evenly over the condensed milk layer.
  6. Crumble the remaining cake mix mixture over the top.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and set. The edges should be slightly crispy, but the center may still look a bit gooey.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan. Slice into bars and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For extra flavor, try adding 1/2 cup chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, to the toffee layer.
  • If you like a slightly thicker bar, bake in an 8×8-inch pan and adjust baking time as needed.
