- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped (about 6 cups)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juices
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Sauté the Aromatics:
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the Cabbage:
- Stir in the chopped cabbage. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to soften.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Assemble the Bake:
- Transfer the beef and cabbage mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- For a low-carb option, omit the diced tomatoes and reduce the tomato sauce slightly.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
