Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for dough)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tbsp sugar in warm milk. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and divide into 20-24 small pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
- Grease a bundt pan or round baking dish. Dip each ball in melted butter and arrange in the pan, stacking as needed.
- Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes, until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush warm bubble bread with additional melted butter if desired. Serve warm and pull apart to enjoy.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic or herbs to the melted butter before dipping.
- Best served warm but can be reheated.
- Perfect for holiday dinners or brunch.
