Description

These Burger Dinner Foil Packets are a fun, all-in-one meal with juicy ground beef patties, tender potatoes, carrots, and onions—all seasoned and grilled (or baked) to perfection in foil. They’re mess-free, customizable, and perfect for camping, cookouts, or a no-fuss family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 cups potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 1 1/2 cups carrots, sliced

  • 1/2 cup sliced onion (optional)

  • 4 tsp butter (1 tsp per packet)

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat or oven to 400°F.

  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Divide and shape into 4 patties.

  3. Lay out 4 large pieces of foil. On each piece, layer potatoes, carrots, and sliced onion. Top with a beef patty and a teaspoon of butter.

  4. Fold foil tightly around the contents to create a sealed packet.

  5. Grill for 30–35 minutes or bake for 35–40 minutes, until veggies are tender and meat is cooked through.

  6. Carefully open the packets, sprinkle cheese over the patties (if using), and let it melt before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap in sweet potatoes, zucchini, or bell peppers.

  • Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or BBQ sauce inside each packet for extra flavor.

  • Make it ahead for camping—just keep chilled until ready to cook!
