Description
This Brown Sugar Grilled Pineapple is a sweet and smoky treat that’s perfect as a summer side dish or light dessert. Fresh pineapple is coated in a brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon glaze, then grilled to caramelized perfection. It’s quick, easy, and always a crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
-
1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into spears or rings
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.
-
Place the pineapple slices in a shallow dish or large zip-top bag. Pour the glaze over the pineapple and toss to coat. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
-
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
-
Remove pineapple from the marinade and place on the grill. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side or until nicely caramelized with grill marks.
-
Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a sprinkle of extra cinnamon.
Notes
-
You can use canned pineapple slices in a pinch—just pat them dry before marinating.
-
For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil or vegan butter.
-
This also works great in a grill pan on the stovetop!
