- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place meat in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Remove meat from marinade and discard the used marinade.
- Grill, roast, or cook the meat as desired.
Notes
- This marinade works well with beef, pork, and chicken.
- Do not reuse marinade that has touched raw meat; if needed, make a separate batch for basting or serving.
- Adjust sweetness or heat by adding more brown sugar or red pepper flakes to taste.
