Description

This Brown Sugar Bourbon Marinade blends sweet, smoky, and savory flavors to tenderize and enhance meats like steak, chicken, or pork. Perfect for grilling or roasting.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Place meat in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Remove meat from marinade and discard the used marinade.
  5. Grill, roast, or cook the meat as desired.

Notes

  • This marinade works well with beef, pork, and chicken.
  • Do not reuse marinade that has touched raw meat; if needed, make a separate batch for basting or serving.
  • Adjust sweetness or heat by adding more brown sugar or red pepper flakes to taste.
