- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz sausage meat or 4 pork sausages, casings removed
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- All-purpose flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sausage meat, breadcrumbs, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle and cut in half lengthwise to create two long strips.
- Divide sausage mixture into two logs and place down the center of each strip.
- Fold the pastry over the sausage and seal the edges with a fork.
- Cut each log into 4 equal rolls and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and score the tops with a sharp knife.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
- Cool slightly before serving. Best served warm.
Notes
- Add a bit of Dijon mustard inside the pastry for extra flavor.
- You can make mini versions for party appetizers.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven for best texture.
