Scale
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 2 tubes crescent roll dough
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Cook the Sausage:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease and let it cool slightly.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Assemble the Crescent Rolls:
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture on the wide end of each triangle. Roll up the dough around the filling and place on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush with Egg (Optional):
- Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the beaten egg for a golden, shiny finish.
- Bake:
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and fully cooked.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, mustard, or a creamy breakfast gravy.
Notes
- Add scrambled eggs to the filling for a complete breakfast bite.
- Use spicy sausage or add red pepper flakes for a kick.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
