Description

The Bourbon Margarita is a fusion cocktail that brings together the bold flavors of bourbon and the citrusy notes of a traditional margarita. It’s refreshing, slightly smoky, and balanced with a touch of sweetness.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau or triple sec
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup or simple syrup
  • Salt or sugar for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wedge or wheel, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass:
    • Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass.
    • Dip the rim in salt or sugar (optional) to coat. Set aside.
  2. Mix the Drink:
    • In a cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, lime juice, Cointreau, and agave syrup.
    • Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until well chilled.
  3. Serve:
    • Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
    • Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel.

Notes

  • Bourbon Selection: Opt for a bourbon with a smooth finish to balance the tartness of the lime.
  • Sweetness: Adjust the agave syrup to your taste preference. If you like a sweeter margarita, add a bit more.
