Description
This Blackstone French toast is crispy, golden, and packed with cinnamon-sweet flavor. Cooking it on the griddle gives you a perfect texture and enough space to make a big batch at once. It’s the ideal breakfast for feeding a hungry crowd or enjoying a weekend brunch outdoors.
Ingredients
-
8 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast works best)
-
4 large eggs
-
1 cup whole milk
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
Pinch of salt
-
Butter or oil, for greasing the griddle
-
Maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh fruit for serving (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium heat.
-
Make the batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
-
Dip the bread: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Let any excess drip off.
-
Grease the griddle: Lightly butter or oil the griddle surface.
-
Cook the French toast: Place the soaked bread slices on the griddle. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
-
Serve hot: Top with butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh berries if desired.
Notes
-
For extra richness, substitute half-and-half for the milk.
-
Day-old bread works best—it soaks up the batter without getting too soggy.
-
Add a splash of orange juice or zest to the batter for a bright flavor twist.
