- 2 lbs beef sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- Salt to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef tips and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Return beef to the skillet. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours or until beef is tender.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the beef mixture and cook for 5-10 minutes until gravy thickens.
- Serve the beef tips and gravy over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute beef tips with stew meat or chuck roast.
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms or bell peppers during cooking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
