Description

Tender beef tips simmered in a savory gravy, served over fluffy rice for a comforting and hearty meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs beef sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef tips and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Return beef to the skillet. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir well.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours or until beef is tender.
  7. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the beef mixture and cook for 5-10 minutes until gravy thickens.
  8. Serve the beef tips and gravy over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef tips with stew meat or chuck roast.
  • For extra flavor, add mushrooms or bell peppers during cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
