A hearty and comforting beef noodle casserole made with ground beef, egg noodles, and a savory tomato-based sauce, topped with melted cheese.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in sour cream.
- Combine cooked noodles with the beef mixture.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
- Top with chopped parsley for added freshness.
