Description

Bang Bang Halibut is a crispy, tender fish dish coated in a creamy, sweet, and spicy bang bang sauce, offering a delicious fusion of flavors perfect for a quick and exciting meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound halibut fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season halibut pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each piece in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry halibut pieces in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey to create the bang bang sauce.
  6. Toss fried halibut gently in the bang bang sauce or drizzle sauce over the fish before serving.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha depending on your preferred spice level.
  • Bake or air-fry halibut for a lighter version of this dish.
  • Use the sauce as a dip instead of coating for extra crispiness.
  • Pairs well with rice, salad, or steamed vegetables.
