Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Pat salmon fillets dry, then season with salt and pepper on both sides. Place them skin-side down in the baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until salmon is just cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream, chicken broth (or wine), lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir and let simmer for 3–5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Remove salmon from the oven and spoon the warm lemon butter cream sauce over the fillets.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
- Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
