Description

These Bacon Wrapped Shrimp are the ultimate appetizer for any gathering. Juicy shrimp are seasoned and wrapped in crispy, smoky bacon, then baked or grilled to perfection. They’re easy to make, packed with flavor, and guaranteed to disappear quickly from the table!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails on)
  • 6 slices of bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley or lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
    • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  2. Wrap the Shrimp:
    • Wrap each shrimp with a half slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if needed.
  3. Cook the Shrimp:
    • For Baking:
      • Place the bacon-wrapped shrimp on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.
      • Bake for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through.
    • For Grilling:
      • Place the shrimp directly on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the bacon is crispy and shrimp are pink and opaque.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove toothpicks (if used), garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use thin-cut bacon for quicker cooking and crispier results.
  • Add a drizzle of maple syrup or honey before cooking for a sweet and savory flavor twist.
  • You can marinate the shrimp in olive oil and seasonings for up to 30 minutes for even more flavor.
