Description

These Bacon Wrapped Green Beans are an easy and elegant side dish perfect for holidays, dinner parties, or weeknight meals! Crisp-tender green beans are wrapped in smoky bacon, glazed with a sweet and savory brown sugar butter sauce, and roasted to perfection. They’re deliciously caramelized, slightly crispy, and absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Green Beans & Bacon:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and blanch for 3 minutes, then drain and immediately transfer them to an ice water bath to stop cooking. Pat dry.
  3. Cut bacon slices in half to create shorter strips.

Assemble & Bake:

  1. Wrap 6–8 green beans with a half-slice of bacon and place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining green beans.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Brush the butter mixture over each bacon-wrapped bundle.
  4. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized.
  5. If desired, broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness.

Serve:

  1. Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
  2. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use thin-cut bacon for quicker and crispier cooking.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the bundles a few hours before baking and store them in the fridge.
  • Alternative sweeteners: Swap brown sugar for maple syrup or honey for a different flavor.
  • Crispier bacon tip: Partially cook the bacon before wrapping the green beans to ensure crispiness.
