Artisan Bread is a rustic, crusty loaf with a soft and chewy interior, made with simple ingredients and no kneading. Perfect for sandwiches, soups, or simply enjoyed with butter.

- 3 cups all-purpose or bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms. The dough will be sticky and loose.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let it rise at room temperature for 12–18 hours, until doubled in size and bubbly.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven (with lid) in the oven to preheat for 30 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. Shape it into a ball using floured hands and let it rest while the Dutch oven heats.
- Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for another 10–15 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown.
- Remove the bread and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- Use parchment paper to easily transfer dough into the Dutch oven.
- For added flavor, mix in herbs, olives, or cheese before the first rise.
- Store leftovers at room temperature wrapped in a cloth for up to 2 days.
