Instructions
. Make the Wonton Taco Shells:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray or brush both sides of the wonton wrappers with cooking spray or oil.
- Drape each wonton wrapper over the side of a muffin tin or over a taco rack to create a “taco shell” shape.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes or until golden and crisp. Let cool while you prepare the filling.
2. Cook the Chicken Filling:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced or ground chicken until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
3. Prepare the Slaw:
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Toss until well mixed.
4. Assemble the Tacos:
- Fill each wonton shell with a spoonful of the chicken mixture.
- Top with the slaw.
- Drizzle with sweet chili sauce and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For extra crunch, add crispy wonton strips or chopped peanuts on top.
- Leftovers should be stored separately to keep the wonton shells crispy.
- Customize with additional toppings like cilantro or sriracha for heat.
