Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Sugar Cookie Crust:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Fruit Topping (Flag Design):

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 2 bananas, sliced

Instructions

Make the Cookie Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter & sugar: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. Add egg & vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Bake: Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let cool completely.

Make the Frosting:

  1. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy.

Assemble the Flag Design:

  1. Spread frosting evenly over the cooled cookie crust.
  2. Add blueberries in the top-left corner to represent the stars.
  3. Create red and white stripes by arranging rows of strawberries and banana slices across the rest of the pizza.
  4. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy!

Notes

  • Prevent Bananas from Browning: Toss banana slices in a little lemon juice to keep them fresh.
  • Make Ahead: The cookie crust can be baked a day in advance. Assemble just before serving.
  • Alternative Crust: Use a store-bought sugar cookie dough to save time!
