Description

An indulgent salted dark chocolate tart with a buttery cookie crust and a silky ganache filling, finished with flaky sea salt for the perfect balance of sweet and salty.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 12 oz high-quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix chocolate cookie crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until combined.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.
  3. Place chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  4. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Pour over chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add cubed butter and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
  6. Pour the ganache into the cooled tart crust and smooth the top.
  7. Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.
  8. Before serving, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top. Slice and enjoy!
