Description

Air Fryer Whole Chicken is a juicy, flavorful, and crispy-skinned roast chicken made easily in the air fryer with minimal prep and perfect results every time.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 to 4 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and remove any giblets.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
  3. Rub olive oil all over the chicken, then coat evenly with the spice mixture, making sure to get under the skin where possible.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 30 minutes.
  6. Flip the chicken breast side up and cook for another 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  7. Remove the chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving and serving.

Notes

  • Use kitchen twine to tie the legs for more even cooking.
  • Cooking time may vary based on chicken size and air fryer model.
  • Leftovers are great for sandwiches, salads, or soups.
