Description
Air Fryer Whole Chicken is a juicy, flavorful, and crispy-skinned roast chicken made easily in the air fryer with minimal prep and perfect results every time.
Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken (3.5 to 4 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and remove any giblets.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
- Rub olive oil all over the chicken, then coat evenly with the spice mixture, making sure to get under the skin where possible.
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 30 minutes.
- Flip the chicken breast side up and cook for another 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
- Remove the chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving and serving.
Notes
- Use kitchen twine to tie the legs for more even cooking.
- Cooking time may vary based on chicken size and air fryer model.
- Leftovers are great for sandwiches, salads, or soups.
