Description

This Air Fryer Parmesan Crusted Chicken is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor! With a golden Parmesan coating and a tender chicken interior, it’s a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Plus, it’s made with simple ingredients and ready in under 20 minutes!


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (butterflied and cut in half)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water

 

  • Cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for a few minutes.
  • Prepare the Chicken:

    • If needed, pound chicken to an even thickness for even cooking.
    • In one shallow bowl, whisk together egg and water.
    • In another bowl, mix Parmesan, panko, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat the Chicken:

    • Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, then coat with the Parmesan-panko mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  • Air Fry the Chicken:

    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
    • Place chicken pieces in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
    • Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray or brush with a little olive oil.
    • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

 

  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
    • Serve with a side salad, veggies, or your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • Crispier Coating: Use finely grated Parmesan for better adhesion.
  • No Air Fryer? Bake in an oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for crispiness.
