Description

Crispy and flavorful air fryer okra made with minimal oil, perfect as a healthy snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb fresh okra, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced okra with olive oil until evenly coated.
  3. In another bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the okra to the dry mixture and toss until well coated.
  5. Place the okra in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend or chickpea flour.
  • Use fresh okra for best texture; frozen okra may turn out soggy.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste—try cayenne for added heat.
