- 1 lb fresh okra, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced okra with olive oil until evenly coated.
- In another bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the okra to the dry mixture and toss until well coated.
- Place the okra in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend or chickpea flour.
- Use fresh okra for best texture; frozen okra may turn out soggy.
- Adjust seasoning to taste—try cayenne for added heat.
