Scale
- 1 lb (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or lemon zest for extra flavor
Instructions
- Prepare the Green Beans:
- Wash and dry the green beans thoroughly. Trim the ends if needed.
- Season the Green Beans:
- In a large bowl, toss the green beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. If desired, add red pepper flakes or lemon zest for a flavor boost.
- Preheat the Air Fryer (Optional):
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes.
- Cook the Green Beans:
- Place the seasoned green beans in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the beans are tender and slightly crisp.
- Serve:
- Remove the green beans from the air fryer and transfer to a serving dish. Serve immediately, garnished with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, toasted almonds, or a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.
Notes
- For an even roast, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.
- Use haricot verts (thin French green beans) for a more delicate texture and shorter cooking time.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
