Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb (500g) ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if needed)
- 1 small onion, finely grated or minced
- 1 small carrot, finely grated
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, onion, carrot, egg, garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Shape the Rissoles:
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties or balls, about 2 inches in diameter. This recipe makes approximately 8–10 rissoles.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Cook the Rissoles:
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Arrange the rissoles in a single layer, leaving some space between each. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil.
- Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the rissoles hot with your favorite dipping sauce, a side salad, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of curry powder or dried Italian herbs to the mixture.
- These rissoles freeze well—shape them, freeze on a tray, then store in an airtight container. Cook from frozen by adding a few extra minutes to the air fryer time.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste or use ground turkey instead of chicken.
