Description

These air fryer chicken rissoles are juicy, flavorful, and easy to make. Perfect for a quick dinner, lunchboxes, or as a protein-packed snack, they’re crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Serve them with a salad, dipping sauce, or in a sandwich.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb (500g) ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 small onion, finely grated or minced
  • 1 small carrot, finely grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, onion, carrot, egg, garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
  • Shape the Rissoles:
    • Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties or balls, about 2 inches in diameter. This recipe makes approximately 8–10 rissoles.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Cook the Rissoles:
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Arrange the rissoles in a single layer, leaving some space between each. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil.
    • Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
  • Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the rissoles hot with your favorite dipping sauce, a side salad, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of curry powder or dried Italian herbs to the mixture.
  • These rissoles freeze well—shape them, freeze on a tray, then store in an airtight container. Cook from frozen by adding a few extra minutes to the air fryer time.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste or use ground turkey instead of chicken.
