Description

These Air Fryer Candied Pecans are the perfect combination of sweet, spiced, and crunchy! They’re quick and easy to make in your air fryer, and great for holiday snacks, salads, or even gift-giving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups pecan halves
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, and salt, and mix until combined.
  2. Coat the Pecans:

    • Add the pecan halves to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the sugar mixture.
  3. Preheat and Line Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-4 minutes. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking (make sure the parchment paper is weighed down by the nuts to avoid it blowing around).
  4. Cook the Pecans:

    • Spread the coated pecans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The pecans should look shiny and caramelized when done.
  5. Cool and Serve:

    • Transfer the pecans to a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool for at least 10-20 minutes. The pecans will become crunchier as they cool.

Notes

  • Storage: Store cooled candied pecans in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
  • Optional Add-Ins: For a spicy twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. For a holiday flavor, substitute cinnamon with pumpkin pie spice.
  • Serving Suggestions: Use as a topping for salads, yogurt, oatmeal, or enjoy as a sweet snack.
