Ingredients
-
1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts), thawed
-
1 1/2 cups peeled and diced apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
-
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
1 egg (for egg wash)
-
Optional: powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for topping
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, mix the apples, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Set aside.
-
Roll out the pie crusts and cut into 4- to 5-inch circles using a cookie cutter or small bowl. Re-roll scraps to make more.
-
Spoon about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of apple filling onto the center of each circle.
-
Fold over to form a half-moon shape and press edges together with a fork to seal.
-
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the tops of the pies with the egg wash.
-
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil or line it with parchment.
-
Air fry in batches at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
-
Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar if desired.
Notes
-
Use canned apple pie filling for an even quicker version.
-
These are best served warm but can be reheated in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes.
-
Try switching out the apple filling for other fruits like peaches or cherries.
